Student Midwife E-Portfolio

My name is Robin and I am a student midwife! 

Midwives College of Utah offers a Bachelors in Science in Midwifery degree (BSM). The BSM program prepares the graduate to become a knowledgeable, skilled and undefended Certified Professional Midwife. These graduates have will have knowledge and proficiency in MEAC’s Curriculum Checklist of Essential Competencies, which includes core competencies and principles set forth by the International Confederation of Midwives (ICM) in addition to the requirements for national certification of North American Registry of Midwives (NARM) and Midwives Alliance of North America (MANA).  ROBIN PLEASE CITE THAT SHIT.

MCU has laid out these goals:

  1.  The undergraduate program aims to prepare gradates to practice the full scope of the Certified Professional Midwife creditor through the demonstration of broad, integrative and specialized knowledge. 
  2.  The undergraduate program aims to advance the equity and access in midwifery, as well as prepare graduates to serve in diverse communities in culturally safe, ethical and collaborative ways. 
  3. The undergraduate program aims to prepare graduates for reflective practice and a perpetual commitment to advancing quality and professional direct-entry midwifery.

Academic goals for the ’25 academic year:
1. To join or create a weekly study group with other student midwives. 
2. Find clinical placement in an apprenticeship.
