Becoming a midwife is both a deep personal calling and a vital service to communities. As a student midwife, I’m training to offer compassionate, skilled care to families during one of the most transformative times in their lives. It’s work that matters now more than ever, as rural and underserved areas lose access to respectful, holistic maternity care.
Midwifery education is incredibly rewarding, but also incredibly costly. I’m relocating to begin my midwifery preceptorship. This will be two years of hands-on training that’s vital to becoming a certified midwife.
